hi

hope you can understand my writing,i have a 305,which was running fine,then just wouldn,t start had the recovery to look at it. all they said was there is no power going to the coils,all the switchs are fine,everything works but no power to coils
please help

Check if there are any (country-specific):

Side-stand-switch
Clutch-lever-switch
Neutral-switch (neutral-lamp o.k.)

Test:

Unplug the separate cable from the CDI (brown-white) if there is any, and make a shortcut to ground (CDI-side), bypassing the switches mentioned above. Now it should run.

Otherwise check ignition-switch , maybe contact is corroded.

Unplug 6-pin-connector and 4-pin connector from CDI, Ignition "on", neutral gear.

Now measure 6-pin connector from frame-side:

Green must not have any "ground"-contact if ignition is "on" !
white to red : about 2-7 Ohm (loading coil 1)
red to black : about 200-400 Ohm (loading coil 2)
red-black to ground : about 0,2 Ohm (ignition-coil 1)
black-white to ground: about about 0,2 Ohm (ignition-coil 2)

Now measure 4-pin connector (frame-side):

red-green to blue-red : about 90 Ohm (sensor-coil 1)
white-green to white-red : about 90 Ohm (sensor-coil 2)
none of them must have any contact to "ground" !
