My GPZ fuel sensor isn't working, so I thought that maybe I should try to fix it (even though Lothi mentioned in "Typical failure" that you can do nothing; but I think that nothing is irrepairable Very Happy

). I removed and opened it. That is what I saw:

There seemed to be a lot of rusty dust (as expected). The rod marked with green circle is connected to float and hexagonal green thing (couldn't tell exactly, why it is hexagonal, but it is pressed on the shaft, which is connected to float..so there is no thread). There should be a contact between the shaft and the plate (contact marked in red). So I am going to make a new contact, out of stainless steel or copper wire (so I could wrap it around the shaft and I won't need to remove the hexagonal thing). If it works correctly, then I'll post here.

It works, but I'm afraid that stationary part of contact (wire) may wear out. If that happens then I'll redesign the whole sensor.
