Do you store your bike over the winter or do you ride it all year round ? Over here the local authorites use rock salt to de-ice the roads . This quite literally, eats into your bike while you watch. Shocked

Usually my bike is licenced all over the year. But in winter it is parking in a garage. So it is used only if streets are dry (and I have enough time).
As a hint if You drive the whole year trough:
Before winter you can seal the bike with wax or vaseline, but it is qiute a lot of work to get it rid again in spring.
A quick'n dirty way is to drive the bike through mudd in harvest.
This also conserves the bike for winter and could easily cleaned in spring, but looks a little bit ugly Wink
